About Helpline
The objective of the help line is to provide barrier-free easy access to emotional and practical support to British Columbian community members facing a crisis or critical situation in a culturally safe manner in multiple languages.
Sahas Helpline is a free and confidential phone service for our community that provides immediate emotional support, crisis intervention, information on community resources and effective referrals in multiple languages.
We offer follow up case management through our helpline which makes us unique among existing mainstream crisis lines in Lower mainland and Canada.
Helpline provides support to people in crises like:
- Depression and anxiety
- Suicide and suicidal ideation
- Mental health and substance use
- Stress due to any life events
- Empowerment information on community resources and referrals
- Guidance to get legal support services for victims of domestic abuse
- Confusion and questions about available provincial and federal benefits
